Board of Directors

Platte County Economic Development Council (PCEDC) enjoys the involvement of community and development professionals who volunteer their valuable time to serve on our Board.

Officers and board members are nominated by current PCEDC board members and are elected to a 3-year term. They are officially seated at the annual meeting, which is held each December.

Mark VanLoh – Chair

Mark VanLoh, Director of Aviation for the City of Kansas City, serves as the organization’s Chair. Mr. VanLoh has worked in the field of aviation for 26 years, serving as Director of Aviation for the Greater Rockford Airport Authority, Director of Airports for the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority, Commissioner of Airports for Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and Burke Lakefront Airport, and President and CEO of Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport Authority. He is an accredited member of the American Association of Airport Executives and serves on the board of directors for Airports Council International. He is also a private pilot and a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.

Jeff Elsea – Vice-Chair

Jeff Elsea, PCEDC Vice-Chair, is President and Chief Operating Officer of the Bank of Weston.  He’s been with the bank 37 years.  He has been involved in economic development in both Weston and Platte County since the early 1980s.  He is the Music Director and Secretary of the Weston Christian Church, trustee of the Weston Historical Museum and bass player in the musical group, The Bank Notes.  Mr. Elsea says he is honored to serve as Vice Chair of the Platte County Economic Development Council for 2013.

Brett Daffron – Secretary/Treasurer

Brett Daffron, Secretary/Treasurer, has been with Commerce Bank for 23 years and has worked in the commercial banking area for 15 years. He has been a Branch Manager, Cash Management Officer, and a Commercial Loan Officer. In October of 2004, he was promoted to Senior Commercial Officer and Manager of the North Region Business Banking Group in Kansas City, MO. Upon completion of his undergraduate degree, he worked on his MBA with an emphasis in Finance until 1996. He is a member of the Liberty East Rotary Club, Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce, and serves on the board of directors for the Liberty Economic Development Council.

Dennis Fisher – Immediate Past Chair

Dr. Dennis Fisher, retired Superintendent of Park Hill School District, serves as the organization’s Immediate Past Chair. Dr. Fisher was Park Hill School District Superintendent from 2005 to 2012.  Prior to that he was deputy superintendent and was initially employed in Park Hill in 1999.  He has 36 years of experience in education with 26 years experience in central office management.  Dr. Fisher is involved in numerous other professional organizations. He is a board member of the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce and Synergy Services, Inc.  as well as board chair of the Missouri Securities Investment Program (MOSIP).
