About Us

The strength of any community is measured in the energy, enthusiasm and interest that residents and business owners take in helping it grow. The Platte County Economic Development Council (PCEDC) is a testament to the depth of this community support.

Platte County is rich with people who love where they live and work—people who are willing to invest both time and money to see their county thrive.  In return, they’ve been able to write their own success stories, by building strong, viable companies and a secure, comfortable way of life in the county they call home.

The PCEDC has encouraged those success stories for over 20 years and is continuing to do so today.

Our Mission

The mission of the PCEDC is to promote, enhance and grow economic development in Platte County, MO.  In so doing, we strive to improve the business sector, the environment and the quality of life in our community. The PCEDC has received over 40 awards from state, regional, national and international organizations for its marketing materials and initiatives promoting Platte County.

The mission of our organization is represented in our plan of work. The strategies of the Platte County Economic Development Council are:

* Expand new business locations in Platte County

* Expand and retain business opportunities in Platte County

* Expand community development outreach opportunities to Platte County cities and towns

* Increase the perceived value of the PCEDC by its member/investor constituents

* Enhance the infrastructure of the Platte County Economic Development Council

These strategies are mapped out in detail in our strategic plan.  In December 2006, the PCEDC Board of Directors approved a four-year Strategic Business Plan which was updated in December 2010.
